hey first time no see!

This is your first post. It lives at _posts/2026-08-01-welcome-to-the-blog.md — every post file follows the same pattern: a date at the start of the filename, then a short slug.

To write a new post:

  1. Copy this file.
  2. Rename it with today’s date and a new slug, like 2026-08-15-my-second-post.md.
  3. Change the title and date at the top, then write your post below the second ---.
  4. Save (commit) it. GitHub Pages rebuilds the site automatically — no other steps needed.

You can use regular markdown: bold, italics, links, lists, and headings with ##.

A second section

Headings like this one get a small rule above them, which is handy for breaking a longer post into parts.

Blockquotes look like this — useful for pulling out a line worth sitting with.

Delete this post whenever you’re ready, or keep it as a template to copy from.
