On writing in public

There’s a particular kind of pressure that disappears once a post is published somewhere real, even if only a handful of people ever read it. A draft sitting in a notes app can be revised forever. A published page has to be finished, or finished enough.

That’s the quiet argument for a blog with an actual domain attached to it, rather than a thread on someone else’s platform: it’s yours, it loads fast, and it will still be there in ten years if you want it to be.

This post is here mostly to show what a second entry looks like on the home page — how the excerpts get cut, how the dates line up in the margin. Once you’ve written a couple of real posts, delete both of these sample ones.
